My experience at Orijin Yoga was nothing short of fantastic! As someone relatively new to yoga, I found the atmosphere warm and inviting. I did drop in Hot Yoga with Onkar as the instructor. He was not only knowledgeable but also incredibly friendly, making my second time practicing yoga feel comfortable and enjoyable.Opting for the hot yoga drop-in session was a great choice. The class challenged me physically, but the heat added an extra dimension that left me feeling both refreshed and energized. What truly stood out to me was the sense of community fostered at Orijin Yoga. Everyone, from the staff to fellow practitioners, exuded friendliness, creating a welcoming environment where I felt at ease.Overall, I had a lot of fun during my time at Orijin Yoga, and I look forward to returning to continue my yoga journey. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a positive and uplifting yoga experience!

A Warm Haven at Orijin 10; Stars if I Could. I recently embarked on a hot yoga journey at Orijin, and the experience has been nothing short of exceptional. What sets this studio apart is their friendly staff, cute and friendly receptionist, yoga instructors and also their genuine commitment to creating a welcoming space, especially for newcomers like myself. Orijin recognizes and respect that everyone regardless of their yoga expertise, has a place in their community. It's not about selling an experience; it's about inviting you to be part of something special. A significant contributor to this warm (no pun intended 😄) atmosphere is the incredible instructor, Aileen. Her dedication and knowledge are apparent in every session. What's truly remarkable is her personal touch, she knows each student by name, fostering a sense of belonging that goes beyond the mat. In a recent encounter, Aileen went above and beyond, extending her support beyond the yoga class. She took the time to address a personal matter I shared, and in the next class, she brought additional information to assist me. This level of care reflects the genuine connections fostered at Orijin. In summary, I couldn't be more pleased with my experience at Orijin. If I could, I would give it 10 stars without hesitation. The community, Aileen's personalized guidance, and the overall positive vibe make Orijin more than a hot yoga studio it's a haven where you not only practice yoga but truly belong.

What can I expect during a hot yoga class?

In a hot yoga class, expect intense heat, dynamic poses, and increased flexibility. The high temperature promotes sweating, detoxification, and cardiovascular benefits, while the poses challenge and strengthen your body. It’s essential to stay hydrated, and modifications are often offered to accommodate different levels of experience. The supportive environment encourages mindfulness and mental clarity, with the class concluding with relaxation to rest and rejuvenate after the challenging practice.

How often should I attend hot yoga classes to see results?

To see noticeable benefits from hot yoga, consistency is key. Even attending just one class a week can yield significant results over time. Each session helps to improve flexibility, build strength, and reduce stress, contributing to an overall sense of well-being. Are there any health conditions or injuries that may be aggravated by hot yoga?

Individuals with certain health conditions or injuries, such as cardiovascular issues, high blood pressure, or heat sensitivity, may need to exercise caution or avoid hot yoga altogether. It’s essential to consult with a healthcare provider before starting hot yoga, especially if you have any pre-existing health concerns.

What should I wear/bring to class?

Wear lightweight, breathable clothing that allows for freedom of movement. Avoid heavy fabrics or excess layers that may cause you to overheat.

Bring a yoga mat, a large towel to cover your mat, a water bottle, and consider bringing a change of clothes for after class. Bring another towel if you plan on showering. Rentals are available for $4/piece.

How do I get the most out of my hot yoga experience?

Arrive Early: Aim to arrive 20 minutes early for class to get set up and give yourself time to adjust to the heat. We have free underground parking here.

Stay Hydrated: Before, during, and after class, ensure you’re well-hydrated to replenish fluids lost through sweating. Proper hydration is essential for optimal performance and recovery.

Listen to Your Body: Honor your body’s signals and adjust your practice accordingly. Push yourself to challenge your limits, but avoid overexertion or pushing through pain. Taking breaks as needed and practicing self-compassion are key to a safe and enjoyable hot yoga experience.

Focus on Breath: Throughout the practice, prioritize mindful breathing by inhaling and exhaling through your nose. Use the breath as a tool to anchor your awareness in the present moment, release tension, and deepen your stretches. Consciously linking breath with movement enhances the flow of energy and promotes a sense of calm and centeredness. If you find yourself breathing through your mouth, gently take it back a bit to maintain a steady, controlled breath.

Set an Intention: Before stepping onto your mat, take a moment to set an intention for your practice. Whether it’s cultivating strength, finding inner peace, or simply showing up with an open heart, having a clear intention can deepen your connection to the practice and guide your energy throughout the class.

Stay Committed: Consistency is key to reaping the full benefits of hot yoga. Make a commitment to yourself to attend classes regularly, even if it’s just once a week. By showing up consistently, you’ll build strength, flexibility, and resilience over time, both on and off the mat.
